Market Watch: Shootin' Disks & Takin'…Um…Posters

I managed to make it in for the last few minutes of the TRU “Defeat The MORBUZAKH” event, and was somewhat less than shocked to discover that the six KANOKA that they were giving out were the very same ones first released with the six METRU NUI MATORAN sets from early this year. I didn’t see more than two of any disk except VHISOLA’s, of which they had over a dozen left. They had a small standee with a hole about 6″ in diameter near the center, and the idea was that you’re supposed to shoot the KANOKA through the hole. I’m not sure if there’s supposed to be a prize handed out for those who succeed.

In addition to the KANOKA, they were also handing out an exclusive poster, and MoD reader Ymir says they were also handing out copies of Comic #19 (Surrender or Run).

The poster they were handing out is pretty cool. On one side there’s a map of METRU NUI, with the six TOA METRU linked to their domains, the three $20 August sets across the bottom, and a MATORAN alphabet key down the left side. On the other side is a VAHKI “Surrender Or Run” graphic, featuring a really big shot of DUME’s KANOHI.

If it wasn’t before, it’s clear now that the VAHKI are a direct parallel to the KGB, which pretty much explains exactly why they would end up at odds with the TOA METRU. Not only is the title written in faux Cyrillic, the alphabet used by the ex-Soviet Union, but each of the six VAHKI images below has one of six catch phrases that just scream “socialist propoganda”:

NUURAKH: A busy MATORAN is a happy MATORAN
BORDAKH: Protecting you from yourself
VORZAKH: Live for the chase
ZADAKH: One step ahead
RORZAKH: Help TURAGA DUME Help you
KEERAKH: Order above all
