LEGO® Stores Hosting Event For Older Builders
Posted by Richard on February 4, 2017 at 05:46 PM CST:
My local LEGO® Store at the Crabtree Valley mall is hosting an event for 18+ builders on February 14th. Usually the store caters to it's younger shoppers, so its nice to see something that doesn't have an age cap at 14. The same event is also being held for younger builders on February 11th. Be sure to check your local store events and sign up ahead of time, and don't forget to sign up for a free VIP membership if you haven't already, as some of these events are VIP exclusive. Spotted by Baxor from our forums: The Hour of Code™ is a worldwide event created by Code.org to introduce millions of kids to computer programming. Learn to code with Bit and see how many challenges you can complete in an hour. Baxor theorizes this is intended to be an introduction into LEGO® Mindstorms programming. It reminds me of The LEGO® Group's WeDo education products. Forum link.

Katherine Land, who seems to represent the LEGOLAND Discovery Center in Michigan, wrote in to give us a heads-up about an interesting job position. They will soon be taking applications, and holding a set of timed building contests to crown a new Master Builder to work at their discovery center. I've included an edited version of the email as well as the full job description in the full story.

My copy of LEGO® Worlds started downloading a patch when I logged into steam today. Upon inspection, it was almost a gigabyte in size. I checked the game's community page where they confirmed this was the "Update 2" patch, including a number of new features. Forum link.

If you are a LEGO® VIP member, a very interesting piece of marketing is likely on its way to you, if not already in your hands. I wont spoil the surprise for you, unless you hate jump scares, in which case you might want to click the link at the end of the post so you don't fall victim for it like I did.
