Nintendo Eshop Sale On LEGO Games Posted by Richard on March 15, 2020 at 10:05 AM CST:
The Nintendo Eshop for U.S. region accounts is currently listing most of it's LEGO® games at 60% off. The games can run a bit slow on Nintendo's handheld, and this was my experience with LEGO City Undercover. You may want to read up on each game before buying if slow loading speeds can get on your nerves. Forum link.
Official LEGO Mario Brothers On The Way Posted by Richard on March 12, 2020 at 09:40 AM CST: According to Kotaku, Nintendo and LEGO® have joined forces to create a LEGO Mario Brothers set. It doesn't end there though, as they developed a giant Mario figure with built in screens to animate the eyes and chest for an interactive game. It appears to use NFC to accomplish this, though a Bluetooth icon is also clearly visible on the figure's back, possibly to link it to a companion phone application. Nintendo's motion input appears to play a role in some interactions, and might possibly track his position across the entire board. Forum link.
Free Augmented Reality Set With $45 USD Purchase Posted by Richard on January 26, 2020 at 10:09 PM CST:
The Hidden Side Drag Racer set can be yours free with a purchase of $45.00 USD or more on LEGO Shop At Home. If your phone is compatible with the Hidden Side app, the Racer can be scanned and used as a visual anchor to play the game. TLG is running this offer until the end of February 9th EST. The model is valued at 12.99 USD, more than 25% of the minimum purchase, not a bad deal if you ask me. Forum link.
Two Great Building Games Updated Posted by Richard on December 10, 2019 at 09:43 PM CST:
Minecraft received an update today, featuring the addition of bees to help players grow crops and provide several new useful materials to harvest. Terraria on the other hand, received an update to it's Switch Edition on the same day to add some of the advanced wiring features and bring it a huge step closer to the current PC version.
Minecraft Realms Has Been Upgraded Posted by Richard on December 6, 2019 at 08:06 PM CST:
Minecraft Realms, the in-house server solution developed by Mojang and Microsoft, has received a huge upgrade. Now called Realms Plus, existing and new subscribers now get a good chunk of free content rotated out monthly. You need a realms subscription that matches your version of choice (PC/Java Or Bedrock/Console). I seem to think that the Bedrock version used to be 4 or 5 bucks a month, so this may be a bad deal to those who just wanted the basics, but a good deal for premium content buyers or Java players who were already paying 8 bucks a month. Minecraft Earth In Early Access Posted by Richard on November 15, 2019 at 06:10 PM CST:
Minecraft's Augmented Reality game "Minecraft Earth" is not quite ready for worldwide launch, but they have recently expanded it out into early access for some areas. It is currently available for both IOS and Android, although some android users like myself are getting a "not available in your country" glitch despite being in one of the early access areas. Huge LEGO Game Sale On Playstation Network Posted by Richard on November 13, 2019 at 09:40 PM CST:
If the Playstation 4 is your console of choice, most LEGO® themed games are currently on sale for the platform. The vast majority are marked down to 70%, which is the cheapest I've ever seen for many of the tittles. LEGO Worlds for example rarely dips down below 15 bucks USD, and is currently just a bit short of 10 dollars.
LEGO Minifigure Hidden In Bulb Boy Posted by Richard on November 8, 2019 at 10:32 AM CST:
As a result of the strange ecosystem for the Nintendo Switch's eshop, the somewhat disturbing adventure game Bulb Boy was recently marked down to the low price of .49 cents USD. While I spotted several things that may have been LEGO® references, there can be no mistaking the LEGO Minifigure in one of the game's medicine cabinets. Forum link.
