Fun With Official LEGO NFC Tags
Posted by Richard on April 21, 2018 at 04:27 PM CST:
The last two years at BrickUniverse, some vendors have been selling pre-assembled LEGO® Dimensions characters and vehicles (minus their NFC tags) as souvenirs to the public. One vendor this year was selling JUST the NFC tags for a buck each. While I was tempted to buy out all figure tags to get their unlockable in-game content, it seemed like it would spoil the fun not to have the physical figures and vehicles to accompany them. I did however buy ten blank vehicle tags to tinker with. If you have an phone with NFC functionality, have a look at the full story.

"Discovery" For PSVR On Sale
Posted by Richard on January 22, 2018 at 12:08 AM CST:
The Minecraft clone for PSVR called "Discovery" is on sale for the first time that I've seen, temporarily marked down to $4.79 USD. The only review I could find praised the game's easy controls but the reviewer though it was pointless, as there are no enemies or goals. You simply explore. dig, or build. Forum link.
Let's Nominate A LEGO Game For Steam's " The “Soul Of Vitruvius” Award"
Posted by Richard on November 23, 2017 at 07:17 PM CST:
As seen on Steam's nomination page: The Vitruvian Man was Leonardo’s celebration of the ideal form. And in that spirit the SASC looks to celebrate the game with the most lovingly rendered character… be it human, alien, anthropomorphic cat people, or even a piece of produce.. Vitruvius is also a character in The LEGO® Movie, and that gives me an idea, please check it out in the details.
"Discovery" Aims To Fill The Minecraft VR Gap On PSVR
Posted by Richard on November 13, 2017 at 08:21 PM CST:
While Minecraft has VR available for Oculus Rift And Gear VR, it sadly lacks an official version for the Playstaion VR. Last week, a game called "Discovery" launched on the PSVR, for 11.99 USD. I imagine Discovery's developer wanted to bring a Minecraft-like experience to fans who have the PSVR rather than more expensive PC and phone platforms. The game's icon even spoofs Minecraft's, consisting of three very dirt blocks arranged like The Legend Of Zelda's Tri-Force. Forum link.

Most games are marked down to $7.99 or $4.99 USD. On the higher end, LEGO City Undercover is down to 19.99, while LEGO Worlds is at 11.99. Forum link.
LEGO Worlds Tittle Update 3 Out, New DLC
Posted by Richard on October 26, 2017 at 08:07 PM CST:
My copy of LEGO® Worlds on Steam received an update containing over 1 GB of new content and UI improvements. The UI additions are focused around building walls and houses more easily, among other things. The "Monsters pack" DLC is also now available for $3.99. The DLC also appears in the Switch console's online store, so I imagine the tittle update and DLC is available on all current consoles. You can see the patch notes on the LEGO Worlds Steam News page.
