Another Switch Eshop Sale On LEGO Games
Posted by Richard on June 12, 2020 at 09:34 PM CST:
It looks like the Nintendo Eshop is having one of it's biggest sales ever on the digital versions of LEGO branded games for the Switch console. There are some deals on non LEGO games that are worth checking out too. The Minecraft-like RPG Dragon Quest Builders 2 is the cheapest I've seen on the console at 18 bucks off the base game, though they aren't providing the discount on the season pass bundle. Forum link
Terraria, Journey's End, Out Now
Posted by Richard on May 16, 2020 at 07:52 PM CST:
Terraria, which features building in a 2D fantasy environment, just got a huge update today. The game has been receiving similar free updates once every year or two since it came out, and this one alone adds over a thousand new items into the game, alongside tweaks, new enemies, bosses, and events. It also represent's the game's final content update as the developers move on to other projects. It will be a while before the update reaches console versions of the game, but the PC version is only $9.99 USD. Forum link.
LEGO Super Mario Recreated In Dreams
Posted by Richard on May 1, 2020 at 03:22 PM CST:
Dreams is apparently a very capable tool for creating your own games. It reminds me of Little Big Planet (and was in fact made by the same people), featuring content made by it's own developers but also content created by other players. Bearly Regal used it to recreate LEGO Super Mario and give him a world to run around in. Forum link.

Nintendo Eshop Sale On LEGO Games
Posted by Richard on March 15, 2020 at 10:05 AM CST:
The Nintendo Eshop for U.S. region accounts is currently listing most of it's LEGO® games at 60% off. The games can run a bit slow on Nintendo's handheld, and this was my experience with LEGO City Undercover. You may want to read up on each game before buying if slow loading speeds can get on your nerves. Forum link.
Official LEGO Mario Brothers On The Way
Posted by Richard on March 12, 2020 at 09:40 AM CST:
According to Kotaku, Nintendo and LEGO® have joined forces to create a LEGO Mario Brothers set. It doesn't end there though, as they developed a giant Mario figure with built in screens to animate the eyes and chest for an interactive game. It appears to use NFC to accomplish this, though a Bluetooth icon is also clearly visible on the figure's back, possibly to link it to a companion phone application. Nintendo's motion input appears to play a role in some interactions, and might possibly track his position across the entire board. Forum link.
Free Augmented Reality Set With $45 USD Purchase
Posted by Richard on January 26, 2020 at 10:09 PM CST:
The Hidden Side Drag Racer set can be yours free with a purchase of $45.00 USD or more on LEGO Shop At Home. If your phone is compatible with the Hidden Side app, the Racer can be scanned and used as a visual anchor to play the game. TLG is running this offer until the end of February 9th EST. The model is valued at 12.99 USD, more than 25% of the minimum purchase, not a bad deal if you ask me. Forum link.
