IdentiToy Unveils Its IdentiBricks Technology, Seeks Developers

Copied directly from their email to me:

“IdentiToy introduces IdentiBricks

IdentiBricks which were designed to show the interactive capabilities of IdentiToy optical triangulation system are the size of a 2×3 brick. The bricks have two fire buttons which when pressed, launch a missiles or bullets on the screen of the Tablet PC. The direction of launch of the missiles is controlled by a rotary knob on the IdentiBrick. The missiles appear to emanate from the brick traverse across the screen and interact with other bricks as well as figures on the screen.

The novel optical scan interrogation and triangulation method works on a standard Tablet PC. The IdentiBrick App divides the screen into squares that are one stud in size and sends a unique optical message at each location. The brick receives the unique message and relays it along with its ID back to the tablet PC via bluetooth. The App then knows the position of all IdentiToy enabled bricks on the screen.

IdentiToy will release a software development kit by Jan 2016 for toy brick manufacturers to develop Apps using the IdentiToy technology.”

It looks like it could be cool with or without the building block compatibility.
