MOC'a'THON: Flying Assault Unit

You can see this “flying” creation and it’s features in actionon this YouTube video. It is a flying assault machine based on the Nui Rama, which was developed by one of the tribes fighting for dominance on a particular island. The wars taking place in this land are part of a giant war game, which was started to strengthen the residents in the event of another invasion.

This MOC uses a gearing mechanism that allows you to push a switch on the handle to power the helicopter blades. You can hold the creation and spin the blades with one hand, allowing you to use the other hand to fire the cannons or operate the grabbing claws.

The claws are similar in operation to Tahu, Unitor of Fire’s swords. One of the axles on the claw passes through a ball joint inside a socket. This gives the claw enough strength to hold objects once you’ve let go of the control knob.
