Retro News: July 1-10 2006
Posted by Richard on July 3, 2017 at 09:29 PM CST:
Welcome to the Retro News, where we try to repost old articles close to their 10+ year anniversary. There have been some changes to the site, so many articles do not appear exactly as they once did, but I've left the articles untouched (as editing them now can remove the author's proper credit) so you can expect a number of external links to be dead, or worse if a site has retired it's domain name.

Below you will see each article's tittle and teaser text. There may be more to each post than what you see, so if you see something interesting be sure to click the tittle to reveal the original post and any extra content and links that may accompany it. I will try to find and include missing related material next to two asterisks (**) under each article's teaser text.

The Mask of Destiny's Offical Review of Brutaka

Posted by Richard on July 1, 2006 at 08:50 AM CST:
While I was searching around for updates I happened to notice RACE FOR THE MASK OF LIFE and PIRAKA OUTPOST was now on Pre Order in the United States from LEGO® S@H!

Posted by Richard on July 3, 2006 at 07:50 PM CST:
The TOA INIKA have come out of Pre-Order two days earlier than planned it seems, coinciding with the appearance of a TOA INIKA teaser on This means with any luck I’ll have a complete collection to review for everyone two days sooner, not counting the Fourth Of July delays. I hope to have at least two of the playsets ready for review within the next two weeks, I have yet to order them due to a lack of an open bank… Also, there are rumors of VEZON AND FENRAHK being released in Japan. Thanks for the news goes to Kardas, Predator, Super Vahiki 64 , Vashetti Nuva, Dylolopokis, Andrew of BZPower and his sources.

While we are experimenting with a video review please enjoy a more in depth written review. Please note I've covered all the basics I could think of with MATORO and I won't be repeating that stuff with the other guys who are already included in those descriptions.

Twister sends me a report that his local Toys”R”us in Olathe Kansas has the new titans in stock, and he speculates that they will soon be everywhere. I probably won’t see them for another week at my local TRU though…Oh well, I have PIRAKA OUTPOST, LAVA CHAMBER GATE, BRUTAKA, and five more TOA INIKA on hand to be reviewed till then.

Posted by Richard on July 8, 2006 at 10:51 PM CST:
Tonight I bring you a review of the largest of the '06 BIONICLE® playsets! Please pardon the delay on getting the rest of the TOA INIKA reviewed.

Posted by Richard on July 9, 2006 at 11:01 PM CST:
I'm still working on getting the other reviews up but while your waiting please post your suggestions or questions for the reviews as well as any other questions you want addressed in this topic, but for now please enjoy TOA NUPARU! Hmm... seems to be some bugs to work out, please bare with me.
