Retro News: July 21-31 2006
Posted by Richard on July 24, 2017 at 10:33 PM CST:
Welcome to the Retro News, where we try to repost old articles close to their 10+ year anniversary. There have been some changes to the site, so many articles do not appear exactly as they once did, but I've left the articles untouched (as editing them now can remove the author's proper credit) so you can expect a number of external links to be dead, or worse if a site has retired it's domain name.

Below you will see each article's tittle and teaser text. There may be more to each post than what you see, so if you see something interesting be sure to click the tittle to reveal the original post and any extra content and links that may accompany it. I will try to find and include missing related material next to two asterisks (**) under each article's teaser text.

Dark Hunters
Posted by Mark on July 21, 2006 at 03:25 PM CST:
I'm certain that someone has pointed this out already: KEETONGU is on the front cover, but he is not in the book nor is he a Dark Hunter. Obviously, evil is afoot!

VEZON and FENRAKK guest review
Posted by Richard on July 22, 2006 at 11:49 PM CST:
My apologies for the delay in the TOA INIKA reviews, postponed in part from computer issues, as well as contest planning, and work on the Miraka Nui RPG. In the mean time I wanted to put forum member Toa Zeo of Ice's VEZON and FENRAKK review in the spotlight since my local stores have yet to receive any new sets, that and it’s a rather well done review. Check it out here in the new “Member Review Database” in our forums. I also recommend checking out BZPower’s VEZON and FENRAKK review.
The review topic is missing, but I think the links just broken from moving it. Ill update this if I can find it.

That’s right! I finally have the rules typed up and am ready to begin taking entries! I hope everyone took the time to get a head start on their entries.

Free The Band!
Posted by Mark on July 23, 2006 at 08:51 PM CST:
In case you don't get LEGO Magazine or you just did not notice the full-page ad in the magazine or the two-page fold-out poster in the latest comic, there is a new BIONICLE® web site at We won't know anything else about it until August 17, unless of course someone spills the beans a little early.

LEGO® Magazine Out
Posted by Mark on July 24, 2006 at 09:32 PM CST:
As you probably know, the latest issue of LEGO® Magazine has been out for a while and it features BIONICLE™ on the front. I have been patiently waiting for my BrickMaster Edition to arrive, but so far to no avail.

One of my favorite sets out of this year's BIONICLE® playsets, want to know more? See the Details!
O_o I don't think I even knew HOW to format the pictures like that, maybe I can blame this on the server transfer?

New BIONICLE INIKA commercial playing
Posted by Richard on July 25, 2006 at 10:35 PM CST:
MoD readers Toa Of Cheese, and Ohyuck reported that commercials for the INIKA, and rather well done ones, are playing on Nichelodeon, with Waspinator giving us a link to where you can find where Toa Zeo Of Ice uploaded it and see it online! (Link removed due to potential exposure to inapropriate material) Waspinator goes on to speculate what he and other BZPower members, as well as other MoD members, where discussing:"The band of "Free the Band" is The All American Rejects. You can tell by the hair and the fact that their song "Move Along" plays in the new Inika Commercial. W00tn3ss."

BIONICLE Heroes Design A Mask Competition
Posted by Richard on July 31, 2006 at 01:03 PM CST:
TT Games, the company in charge of designing “BIONICLE® Heroes” (At least for the console systems) has been hard at work trying to make the game a successful addition into the BIONICLE universe, and are giving us a chance to add our own mask into the game itself along with a worthy prize!
