MoC Spotlight, Roa McToa's Chibi MoC Collection!
Posted by Richard on June 13, 2007 at 12:28 AM CST:
Well, there has been a slump in the news lately, I'm told from a combination of being in the off season and lack of news submissions resulting from the lack of news, so I'm stepping the MoC Spotlight up to what is was originally intended for, spotlighting a particular MoC topic on our forums with an exceptional creation, or in this case creations! Not including the most recent sets, Roa McToa made chibi versions of the majority of the BIONICLE toy line! Click here to check them out!

Links to photo content are why I like to try and upload at least one picture to MoD's servers nowadays. It helps when old forum software becomes corrupted. I did however track down Roa McToa's Flickr page

Times Square Trip
Posted by Richard on June 14, 2007 at 09:25 PM CST:
This is many days later than I intended it to be posted, but I’m hoping to get the last of the details about my trip to toyfair posted.

After correcting a few typos in this article, I may have discovered the cause of the random question marks. It appears my browser's autocorrect would use a different apostrophe than the standard when it added it manually on my behalf, and often changed some marks into others, like changing the three dots ... into a single symbol that looked like three. The same autocorrect also misses 20 typos in this article alone. Aren't computers amazing?

MoC Spotlight, Cyan's Weapon Forge
Posted by Richard on June 15, 2007 at 09:57 PM CST:
Cyan has posted many great MoCs on our forums, but his Weapon Forge Topic has a few must see-creations. BIONICLE® MoCs are often about creating a character rather than a ship or vehicle (or just about anything else you want so long as the parts are available), so the tools they use often get overshadowed. I think I've seen too few creative weapons and tools, but the few I have seen were great, and had their own topic rather than being a topic about who wielded them. I'm looking forward to seeing some new equipment MoCs, especially more of the working tools with mechanisms.

MoC Spotlight, Jaril's Mini Models
Posted by Simon on June 17, 2007 at 11:22 AM CST:
Today an addition to the Mini MoCs collection with Jaril's Collection. I particularly like how these models are created, using Throwbot torsos for the toa bodies, and how Barakki Carapar and Vahki Vorzahk was constructed. With what little quantity of pieces Jaril has had to work with I commend him.

If anyone happens to know if Jaril and Cyan are still building or have their old pictures online somewhere, I'd love to have links and feature their works on the site again after all these years. I suspect Roa McToa is just so well known you can't NOT find her work when you search her name.

LEGO Group Secures Exclusive Construction Category Rights to Indiana Jones Property

--World’s best-selling construction toy brand to bring blockbuster movie franchise to life in LEGO® form— (this press release provided by the LEGO company via Julie Stern)

This is probably not the longest story tittle in the site's history, I've actually had to shrink some down during a server upgrade so the article could carry over.
