MOC: DragonaxFilms’ Tuyet

Continuing with the Tuyet theme in honor of Duckbrick’s Fanon Contest, we have
DragonaxFilms’ entry to the contest!

This Tuyet is using a Toa Metru body, like the first two featured for this event. However, DragonaxFilms has slimmed the body down considerably by mounting the shoulders directly to the torso via a ball joint with no axel between it and the main body. A combination of silver Toa Nuva, Metru, Inika, and even some throwbot parts contributes to a streamlined appearance. Paired with some tiny curved silver teeth, bohrok eyes, and a spinax spine, Tuyet looks as thorny as her barbed sword!

As far as criticism goes, The sword is nothing special, just a simplified Krika spine with an added guard. This is probably an attempt to make the sword, and the MOC itself, easier to replicate per Duckbrick’s advisement. However, I wish more builders would focus on a custom sword like Bukkey’s design, since a barbed sword is one of Tuyet’s defining characteristics. The arms also lack a good bit of articulation between the direct ball joint attachment and the elbow, although this was necessary to keep the arms from becoming too bulky, so it’s understandable.

If you like DragonaxFilms’ presentation, they have many more creations here on youtube with similar theatrics, as well as some stop motion and how-to videos.
