Wall of History: Skybound Part Two, Now Live!

Happy 810NICLE Day, everyone! At 12:00 AM EDT this morning, Part Two of the Skybound Update was launched. Like last time, I’ll be summarizing the changes here.

The focus of Part Two is Flash, so it only makes sense to start where it all began — with Mata Nui: The Online Game. On the first of this year, we announced an MNOG restoration project, which would recreate the original nine chapters of the game as accurately as possible. We also released a demo of chapter one. Today, we’ve replaced that demo with a more accurate recreation of chapter one, as well as released our first version of chapter two!

The revised chapter one restoration, which allows you to explore the beach of Ta-Wahi, can be found here. Chapter two, which allows you to explore the charred jungle and the village of Ta-Koro, can be found here.

Changes made for the purposes of this restoration include…

  • Changed start tile to the edge of the Ta-Wahi beach.
  • Carried over beach scenes from chapter one restoration (to remove Maku).
  • Restored original crossroads camera position.
  • Restored original Jala dialogue.
  • Disabled Onu-Koro Highway button.
  • Removed lavaboard Matoran.

A far more detailed account of changes can be found in my MNOG documentation, where I’ve compiled everything I’ve learned working on this project.

In addition to another chapter of MNOG, Part Two also features restored Flash formats for the Bohrok and Bohrok-Kal animations — an example can be found here.

Finally, three more novels have received interactive 3D models, those being BIONICLE Chronicles #2: Beware the Bohrok, BIONICLE Chronicles #3: Makuta’s Revenge, and BIONICLE Chronicles #4: Tales of the Masks. Just click on the covers to check ’em out! (They don’t work on mobile, though. Sorry about that.)

As always, be sure to join our official Discord server to give us any feedback you might have on this update, follow us on Twitter for the latest news… and enjoy the rest of 810NICLE Day 2022!
