The Lone Swordsman’s The War Mech Prototype is a lovely piece of engineering. It’s not the fanciest or most intricate piece of power armor, instead it is a case of form-follows-function. Mech suits for Toa and Matoran are some of my favorite MOCs, and I love being able to see how they work. I can always appreciate a MOC I can learn from for making bigger builds.
This mech is fully articulated, and makes use of a harness that folds down to hold the pilot in place. The pilot also has a pair of technic beams to old onto, simulating a control mechanism. A large retractable plate of armor also folds down over the pilot’s face on a separate hinge, enabling the pilot to reveal their face.
The Lone Swordsman has been posting videos of his MOCs and other BIONICLE content for over 8 years, and has plenty of MOCs to check out! Most of his creations are toa sized, and feature some interesting building techniques. Despite the skeletal look of the mech suit, his typical building style is much more finished looking.
