Orange+grey=bad. Anyways, this is not what I would have envisioned a “cave toad” looking like. The front legs are longer than the rear legs, and it’s a bit too bright and colorful for something that’s living in a cave.
The design looks disturbingly cute, considering this is supposed to be a fierce predator of the PO-WAHI desert. Well, okay, those clawed front feet don’t look particularly cute.
I don’t know if it’s an intended feature, but I found that if you push down on the top of the head and yank your hand away fast enough, it’ll actually jump up a bit.
And what would a fierce predator be without some sort of built-in attack? Not much, is what. If you push down on the MAKIKA’s back, it will cause the mouth to open. A rubber band will snap it shut on any unsuspecting prey. Sorry, no foot-long sticky-tongue…
