Forum Member Takal has made a number of excellent MOCs, this pair of toa are another of his memorable creations. This is one of those MOCs with a great many small details to look at, and the kind that a builder can learn from. The spine along the back and the use of the blades for the elbows are among my favorite details.

Takal:
Even as a Matoran, Takal was strong-willed and dependable, the traits of a Po-Matoran. Though his element was forcibly mutated, he retained his friends-first mentality, and sees all other goals as secondary. As a result of his mutations, Takal is physically weaker than the average Toa, though his elemental control surpasses the norm. He feels a deep, lasting regret for his friends’ fates during their rebellion against Mutran, and would give his life without pause for thought to protect the last surviving member of this team: Toa Nuara. He wears a Kiril Avkra, a Kanohi which mutated along with him during his elemental adaption. It now regenerates biological tissue, as well as armour, to a limited extent. He wields a thunderspear, but prefers to use rahkshii staffs.

Nuara:
Recklessness and a short temper are usually traits associated with fire-elemented beings, but Nuara displays both frequently, and this sometimes gets her into more trouble than she can handle. She wasn’t always like this, and the experiences at the hands of both Karzahni and Mutran have left more than mere physical marks. Her Kanohi is an adapted Kaukau ‘Avkra’ capable of filtering poisons and other harmful particles out of the air. She is armed with a plasma halberd as a Toa Tool, though rarely uses the blade itself.
