After having to wait an hour (or more) in line the staff at the store told me I could not take close up pictures of the displays in the store due to copywrites on the items. I had started taking pictures of the display cases already but wound up having to delete those. Here are a few pictures of the line:
I was not able to find any new BIONICLE® sets, what I did find was full price even though they were on sale at other stores for months now. Thes are the best shots I managed to get in the store, I wish I had taken more so I didnt have to use these:
For all my waiting I am rewarded with this collectable brick with my purchase and for turning in my post card invitation.
As for the Giant Yoda statue, which was the more interesting part of the event, I originaly thought they were building one of those small desk sized Yoda models, and I didnt see how anyone could really turn that into a group event. The LEGO® company being clever, it turns out they had a great way to make it a group event. The Yoda statue was actually a gigantic scale model of the smaller Yoda set that can be bought in stores. The participants had been tasked with building giant LEGO bricks out of smaller LEGO bricks, which they would take to the master builder to continue it’s construction. When I was there, not even a quarter of the construction was finished.
