I’ve had my theories in the past, but it appears this whole time The LEGO® Company has been building up to quite a twist. The two lines both feature primarily robotic characters with a wide range of colors, and differently themed elemental weapons, if not elemental powers bestowed on the character him or herself. Additionally, many ideas from brain parasites to underground swarms, even the mech suits in the latest line take a page directly from the original BIONICLE story. It makes sense that The LEGO Group would finally announce the two themes were actually part of a greater universe, with the events at the end of Hero Factory causing a war that reduces society back to a tribal state, and thus begins the Biological Chronicle. Update: If you haven’t guessed it yet, this was an April Fools joke.
