Klez Driving Me Klazy

If you know your computer has the Klez virus but you just don’t know what to do about it, let me point out that there are free tools available to remove it.

Here is one from Symantec.

Note: Don’t run any program sent as an attachment to an email claiming to remove the Klez virus. This is one of the ways the virus spreads itself.

If you don’t know if your computer is infected or not, go ahead and run one of the removal tools. They won’t harm your system if you don’t have the virus. A better solution would be to purchase some anti-virus software or regularly visit one of the online virus-scanning websites.

Lastly, you may receive emails containing the Klez virus which seem to come from news@maskofdestiny.com or mark@redquark.com or any of the other staff members’ email addresses. They are not coming from us. They are coming from someone else, a mutual acquaintance who sent email to us in the past. The virus “spoofs” the sending address to prevent you from tracing the virus back to its actual source.
