“Makuta Teridax. What Makuta looked like before it became a whirlwind of parts?”

This Makuta Teridax MOC by Signor All has a brilliant premise. If I interpret correctly; it’s designed around Makuta as he was shown in the original Mata Nui Online Game and Signor All’s own BIONICLE story universe. Before Makuta’s signature form was revealed for the Mask of Light storyline, he appeared as a small Matoran, and a mass off parts and tentacles. The majority of this Makuta is comprised of parts visible during this sequence. Some liberties were taken, most notably the Mask Of Shadows, rahkshi parts, and a few more recent CCBS components.

As for constructive criticism, I think the arms could have used a little more bulk. I would have tried replacing the rahkshi carapaces with curved McToran arms in order to help eliminate the use of parts not actually seen in the source material. I understand why they are there, as they are iconic to his design, though I think Signor All could have managed without them and still captured Teridax’s profile.

You can see more of Signor All’s work here on youtube. They typically produce 3D BIONICLE content and MOCs, though not always creations that can be replicated due to needing custom models and parts never produced by The LEGO Group. Regardless, Signor All’s creations are very fun to see.
