But I’ve always thought if you can’t find parts, you’re not looking in the right places! It may not be ideal if you need specific parts, in which case BrickLink is your best bet, but eBay can be your best friend if you have a mind to experiment with whatever parts you have access to.

This seller on eBay has pre-owned parts by the pound for $25.00 each, with flat rate box shipping of $9.00. They’ve sold over 120 pounds of parts already, and even offers a bulk discount, albeit not more than a few cents, if you buy multiple pounds. The seller even offers to try to find specific parts to include if you message them after placing your order, and states they will always toss in “two helmets”, so your resulting amalgamation from the random parts will have some protection while riding a bicycle.

The seller’s picture can’t possibly be an accurate picture of the pound of parts you will get, as it only shows maybe a few pounds out of the hundred they have to sell, but shows pieces from sets ranging from the Toa Mata to the Inika and Piraka, and shows just a hint of Hero Factory parts as well.
