Right here we have Santoa seated on his sleigh, being pulled by a yet-to-be-named rahi reindeer. In the back, his little green matoran helper, Bingle, watches over the gifts stashed in the back. Each of the characters are part of my own story universe, where once a year Toa San (Usually called Santoa) travels around Miraka Nui handing out masks to the toa and matoran in need of them, or deserving of a reward. With his mask of truth, he can see who is especially worthy of a well crafted mask, while those who are not so nice, but still in need, get a more basic mask.
This is the sleigh, which I spent most of today working on. I had originally wanted to craft it out of a Toa Mahri frame (the big hard plastic thing taped around the blisters the Toa Mahri came in). I had forgotten they switched brown to yellow, so I spend some time working on this smaller alternative. It’s not as flashy as I wanted but I think it’s simplicity has its own appeal.
Bingle (Or Mr. Bingle as I like to call him, I like imagine him as having an absurdly deep voice) is one of the matoran mask carvers that helps Santoa out each year, and slips into places Santoa cant to ensure everyone gets a mask. Matoran in Miraka Nui usually have a backpack with a mechanical arm, in this case a twin-laser to help him with intricate masks.
These are stock photos from the past couple years, the first Is Santoa. He may look fat, but he’s really just stronger than your average toa. Before he had his helpers, he would carry a huge bag of masks by foot each year. I don’t have anything special to say about the reindeer. he has a red nose and one odd colored antler. I cant seem to find that last solid colored sand brown piece to replace the transparent one.
