This is a collection of MOCs by Benjamin’s Bay

In this video, Benjamin’s Bay shows off the following MOCs and gives some insight into their design: Toa Varian, Zaria, Chiara, Ahkmou, Velika, Orkahm, Nixie & Kapura. Although they generally share the same torso design, each one has some pretty cool designs and tiny details to make them unique. The tools that the Toa use are especially interesting, and I learned a few tricks by watching the video. Ahkmou’s mace for example, I’ve never found a good use for that half-pin connector. Using it to connect the mace ball to the chain without sticking out as much is a brilliant idea.

For the constructive criticism segment, I’m sure these MOCs use the Metru Nui torsos to make them period-accurate to the 2004 characters, and to make the characters easier to replicate, not as a shortcut of any kind. Still, I’d love to see what Benjamin’s Bay can do if he applied the same skill with weapon/tool design into making a completely original torso.
