This MOC was created by About The Brick
The video doesn’t go into much detail on Toa Copen’s story in this video, however About The Brick gives us step-by-step instructions on how to build the Copen. I was surprised to see this was built around a Toa Metru torso! The shoulder pads and roborider wheel do a great job of hiding the underlying structure. I especially like how the cone brick was used to create a forearm, which in turn provides the perfect attachment point for the pneumatic t-pipe used for the hands.
If I were to offer any constructive criticism, I might have tried to find a better way to attach the shoulderpads. They do not stay on very well, as the video shows them falling off during the construction portion. I can think of a few options, although to be fair, they might impact the articulation a bit. I would also replace the bricks at the wide end of the cone with some rounded plates, since the square bricks look a touch out of place.
You can see more of About The Brick‘s work here on youtube and Instagram. Unfortunately there is not a lot of BIONICLE/CCBS content, though what they do feature in this theme is impressive. The majority of their work is system creations, stop motion, and quick builds of LEGO sets.
