This is a creation by J New Brick Builds
It’s been almost a year since MaskOfDestiny last featured a creation by J New Brick Builds, and he hasn’t stopped building in that time. In this video, he starts off with a few panning shots of the creation, and then goings into detail explaining his design process and pointing out some things you might not notice without a very sharp eye.
The skinny midsection was a great idea, making him look not-quite skeletal and very mechanical. It works very well with the exposed technic parts comprising the bulk of the limbs. The silver parts are used sparingly, but smartly to smooth out and blend in with the gray parts.
As for constructive criticism, I’d be tempted to add a couple pistons and a ball joint to give his torso more articulation, although I’d hate to ruin the profile of the midsection and wide shoulders. As an alternative, I’d probably work a turntable into the upper torso and connect the liftarm to that, allowing him to swing his upper body left and right.
