This MOC spotlight comes from an unusual source. I found it in an eBay listing from the seller LotsNBricks while searching for something for last week’s market watch. I’m tempted to ask the seller for more details about it, though I worry I’d waste time for actual customers since I’m neither endorsing the listing or hoping to buy it (At least not on my current income). I cant imagine the seller complaining about the free publicity though.

This Onua is massive, and takes everything about the G2 Onua set and makes it bigger. So big in fact, that using the stock Master Of Earth mask is almost too small for him. I especially love the gigantic arms, complete with the individually articulated clawed fingers. The builder must have been a long time BIONICLE fan, and decided to bring back the Earth Toa’s classic 3 clawed hands. This MOC looks like a true labor of love for a favorite character.

For the sake of trying to offer constructive criticism, I’m not too fond of the rubber bands used in the hand construction. They allow for some interesting construction, though in my experience rubber bands left in constant tension will deteriorate after a while. I personally prefer “legal” connections too, and using rubber bands to hold parts on just doesn’t suit my tastes.
