I’ve got two copies of LEGO® UNIVERSE set aside for prizes in this contest, where I challenge forum members to build a BIONICLE® themed creation that uses standard system bricks. There are two categories, giving each entrant two chances to win a copy. If your not a forum member, you can always sign up to participate in this contest.
There are two categories for you to enter in, one is Unlimited Build, the other is Character Build. Both of these categories require that you use system bricks in some way. You may use any other official LEGO® elements, but they cannot be painted, broken, cut apart, or otherwise modified. You may bend pieces, but not in a way that would permanently damage the part. If bricks are not your strong suit and your going for character build, just try to squeeze a couple in there somewhere and make them look like they belong there. So long as you use the bricks somewhere, feel free to use whatever combination of LEGO elements you want in either category. Just don’t submit something obscene!
For “Character Build”, you can build a custom character based on the BIONICLE universe, but with some restrictions in mind so we don’t have really tiny things competing with enormous MOCs. Please keep the creation between one and two Hero Factory/Bionicle Stars cannisters tall. Weapons and other details of the creation may exceed the height limit, so long as the main portion of the character is within that general size. For the sake of competition, please don’t make a rahi, or an animal-like creature, but instead a hero, villain, or villager. That doesn’t mean they have to be a Toa, Makuta, Matoran, Rahkshi, Skadki, etc, just as long as its someone instead of something. If you want, you can choose to go against some of these guidelines, and doing so wont make you ineligible for a prize, but it may cost you when time comes for judging.
There is no part or size limit for the Unlimited Build category. In fact, you can use LEGO Digital Designer( downloadable for free ) or LEGO Universe itself to render your creation if you can figure out how to get a screenshot. This is basically your opportunity to go nuts and build as big or as small as you want to. If you plan to enter in the Character Build category then I encourage you to try your hand at making something BIONICLE themed using mostly bricks for Unlimited Build, for example, a statue of Kopaka or a micro-scale version of Ga Wahi Village from the Mata nui Online game, made possible thanks to the LDD software if your computer can run it.
Submitting An Entry
*You will need a forum account to enter. Your entry should be posted in the MOC section , with something indicating it is for the Brickonicle contest in the tittle, you should also bring the entry to our attention in the feedback topic for this contest, or send me a PM to make sure it is properly accounted for and judged once the deadline arrives.
*You may enter in both categories, but if you win a prize for one category, you will not be eligible for a prize in the other category.
*You can only enter one creation in each category.
*You cannot enter the same creation in both categories.
*You cannot re-use a custom creation previously posted on our forums unless you make an effort to overhaul and improve the creation for the sake of the contest. If you have published it else-ware, an effort to revamp it for this contest is greatly appreciated.
*For this contest, you are allowed to modify your creation before the deadline hits, but once the deadline arrives no more changes should be made so entries can be judged. This is intended to give entrants a chance to improve their creations with the feedback of other forum members, and to give entrants the flexibility to enter and modify the creation at their own pace.
*The deadline is April 1st, 2011. Once this date arrives, you cannot submit an entry or make any more changes to your entry. For clarification, April 1st is not the last day to enter, but when no more entries/changes may be made. The last day to enter or make modifications is April 10th 2011. The time zone I am using for this contest is Eastern Standard Time .
*When you enter, you give Mask Of Destiny staff members permission to save pictures of your creations and their related text to our servers for the sake of presenting them in a news post on our front page. We do not become the owners of your pictures and related text, and once the contest is over we will do our best to remove them from our server in a timely manner if requested.
*If you win a prize in this contest, you will need to be 18 years or older to receive it, or have permission from a parent or legal guardian to give me a shipping address so you can receive the prize.
*Mask Of Destiny and it’s staff are not responsible for any prizes lost in the mail.
*LEGO Universe does require you to sign up for a LEGO ID to play, and it comes with one month of free play. The first month does not require you to register a credit card. After your first month has expired, if you wish to continue playing, you may need to register a credit card and buy a subscription if you wish to continue playing. Any subscription you buy is not included in the prize, and Mask Of Destiny and it’s staff will not be responsible for reimbursing or paying any subscription or Internet Service provider fees for you to play the game.
*I cannot guarantee the version of LEGO Universe I ordered for
the prize will work on your personal computer, or that it is not region encoded.
*The funds for the prizes have come out of my own pocket, and I paid for the local taxes upon purchase. I am not responsible for any additional taxes or shipping fees you incur for receiving any prizes from this contest.
*I did not receive the exclusive rocket ship or orange space man minifigure when I ordered these prizes (If I knew I wasn’t going to I would have just bought them in store for the same price >_> ), so they will not be included in the prize. I might try to hunt down something nice to throw in as an additional gift, since the game’s play time will end after a month and I’d prefer you have something to commemorate placing in the contest other than a game that wont run anymore unless you pay for additional time.
*I reserve the right to cancel the contest, or to modify any of these rules, primarily as a defense to anyone trying to intentionally exploit my generosity or a hole in the rules for an unfair advantage, or if unforeseen events make me unable to complete the contest and issue prizes.
*The LEGO Company is not involved in this contest, this is a fan run website.
