New Images And Theories

First of all, MoD reader Marcel sent us the URL for the original source of the box image. We’re not going to link to it, but you can copy and paste the following URL to view it:

http://shop.lego.com/xt_Imagepopup.asp?XMLPath=2057&iFile=/images/products/TYPE04/LEGO-US-2057/box384x288us010023.jpg

Second, after fussing around with the TAHNOK images, I was able to figure out the URL for another image:

http://shop.lego.com/xt_Imagepopup.asp?XMLPath=2057&iFile=/images/products/TYPE10/LEGO-US-2057/Set384x288us010023.jpg

I was also able to determine that there is no third image at this time, nor is there a corresponding page for ordering the product. I also checked for the BOXOR, EXO-TOA, and the Uber-BOHROK, and none of those images showed up yet.

Now, as to what this is, as we mentioned yesterday, card 111 says it’s a DRAGON LIZARD. A lot of people have written in to claim that it’s a HIKAKI, but I didn’t see any evidence of this. First of all, the CCG card never mentions the word HIKAKI. Next, the Nintendo Power Advance GBA walkthru lists it as a HIKAKI DRAGON (aka LAVA DEMON), not a HIKAKI DRAGON LIZARD .

And third, if you look at the above image (sorry about the quality, but the original image was only about 5/8″ x 3/4″, so there’s not a lot of quality to work with) you can see that the GBA HIKAKI DRAGON uses both a very different color scheme and a significantly different construction. Where the DRAGON LIZARD has feet made of the THROWBOT wings and arms that end in orange ONUA claws, the GBA HIKAKI DRAGON has feet made with orange ONUA claws and no arms at all. It’s a bit hard to tell in that image, but the GBA HIKAKI DRAGON seems to have a red GALI hook sticking out of the front of its head, where the DRAGON LIZARD has what appears to be a basic 1x1x5 liftarm for a snout. Finally, the orange GALI hook used for the tail is oriented in a different direction, pointing down for the GBA HIKAKI and up for the LIZARD.

UPDATE: Well, MoD reader Pat Brett wrote in with proof that contradicts everything I said above in regards to the name theories. Apparently the official Lexicon lists DRAGON LIZARD as “Another name for the HIKAKI.” There you have it. Apparently the GBA creature designs are not 100% true to the real official designs. Of course, now that I think about it, the MAHA looks nothing like the ones we’ve seen in the MATA NUI Online Game.
