Basically, when a toy company comes out with new products, they will often throw together a batch of samples and informational literature to send out to purchasing reps for major toystore chains (so they know if they want to stock it) and sometimes to members of the press (so they can review them prior to the official release date). These are not official LEGO® sets, nor are they available for purchase. Technically they’re probably aimed more at the purchasing agents than they are at the press, but I’m not a purchasing agent, so I’ve dubbed mine a ‘Press Kit’.
