Ever since I first posted an image of a certain yellow proto-HAU, people have been asking me how I got it. Then it started again with the prototype SAND TARAKAVA (for the record, that belongs to Mark, not me), and then again with the two green proto-RURU.
A few weeks ago I was flipping through the LEGO® Product Book that I got at Toy Fair, and suddenly it hit me. The prototype BOXOR pilot can actually be built with existing parts. All you need is an orange RURU, a red MATORAN body and arms (with head, of course), and dark-grey legs. Ironically, all of these pieces can be obtained in basic sets. The new BOXOR will get you the legs, the MANAS will get you the RURU (assuming you didn’t pull one from KANOHI packs), and JALA comes with everything else you need to build your very own proto-NUPARU. The nice thing about this is that if you build both BOXOR models, you can have NUPARU pilot one, and turn the other one over to proto-NUPARU.
