The download we have had up for the 2002 CD-ROM/2013 Templar release of MNOG has been the unaltered files – good for preservation, but if you aren’t super familiar with Flash, potentially a little inaccessible, since it isn’t really set up to run as a download. What’s more, I missed that it’s totally possible people might try to run it on a more recent version of Flash, thereby experiencing the broken flute glitch that the streaming versions of the game also currently face.
To address these issues I added an alternate download for this release. The only differences are a ReadMe and a single file added to the main directory – player.exe – which will run the game without the flute glitch. The original download of the unmodified game is still there too, in case you’ve already got a Flash 5 (give or take) projector sitting on your computer!
This change is only being made to the one version because both the official 2006 release, and the built-in save version, already play the game correctly as they are.
Enjoy being able to summon a bird to transport you across the island, in 2021 and beyond!
