By now you’ve all heard that the PC game has been cancelled. You’ve most likely also heard that it is still due out in December. You might have even heard that the December rumor is false. Now you get to hear how it probably started, thanks to a little info from Michael in the LEGO® PR department.
It turns out that the North American PR division received news about the cancellation and relayed it to the fans before the Global Company Communications department heard about it. Consequently, when fans around the world heard the rumor and called up their local Consumer Affairs divisions to find out if this was true, a lot of them were given the December story. If they’d waited a week or so, the rest of the Consumer Affairs divisions world-wide would have been informed of the recent decision and thus would have been able to confirm the original rumor instead of denying it.
So, there you have it. Can I prove that it’s actually what happened? No, not without tracking down every individual who started telling everyone they’d been told through official sources that the PC game was still going to happen. However, something called Occam’s Razor suggests that this is probably very close to the truth.
