I still don’t like the new brown, and nothing’s going to change that.
The one single saving grace of this set is the inclusion of the first (and currently only) trans-dark blue TOA eyepiece, though it does have the same limited light-piping characteristics of the original ONUA eyepiece. We’ve been working with the same six colors for TOA eyepieces for 2-1/2 years now, in spite of the fact that the admittedly more general purpose BOHROK eyepiece has been produced in eight transparent colors, metallic silver, and five basic opaque colors. It’s about time we got some more variety in that piece. Now if they could just get around to making one in trans-purple. Trans-black would also be nice. Oh, and glow-in-the-dark.
AHKMOU’S KANOHI is the oddest looking of the bunch. Viewed straight on, the protodermic silver almost doesn’t register, and least on mine. The similar color values added with the way it mixed puts the heaviest portion right on the very top of the mask, and leaves only a faint glaze over the upper forehead portion, which almost looks like it could be accounted for by glare.
The disk symbol is an odd yellowish color that really doesn’t seem to be matched with the new brown color. Add to that the fact that most of the symbols don’t appear to be based on their respective elements, and the only way to really tell that this belongs to PO-METRU is the fact that it looks even less appropriate for any of the other five METRU.
