It took me a while to figure out why they’re releasing two firefighter boats, but no land vehicles. Everything in the World City lineup is water-themed. Anyways, there’s a one-man Firefighter boat with a bow-mounted water cannon (sorry, it doesn’t actually squirt), and a Fire Command Craft with a self-launching rubber raft tucked in a special bay in the stern.
The Coast Watch is keeping an eye on the beaches, making sure the swimmers are safe and the crooks are stopped. The sole land-vehicle in this year’s lineup is the Dune Patrol, which, as the name suggests, still doesn’t get far from the water. Flying overhead is the Rescue Chopper, which is packed to the gills with rescue gear. Running the show is the Coast Watch HQ, which comes equipped with a smaller helicopter (one that looks like it’s capable of water-landings) and a small one-man speedboat.
Sacrificing the speed of a cigarette boat for the on-land capability of a hovercraft, a pair of criminals hang out at the Hovercraft Hideout on dock 13. Continuing the trend of stowed launches, the hovercraft packs a small one-man speedboat.
