Toy Fair Pt. 14

The Creator Tub is the most economic source for bricks, costing a mere $9.99 for one thousand pieces. Yes, that’s just barely under one penny per brick (can you imagine buying TAHU for 33 cents?). There isn’t much variety of shapes, but a lot of sculpture builders rely on stuff like this for raw materials.

Creator Buildings is a bit more specialized, but it hearkens back to the models pictured on the first LEGO® packages. My favorite is the little castle, which will probably make more sense to older fans than kids who started out on BIONICLE®.

Moving on, we have Creator Transportation, full of wheels, wings, propellors, and other pieces geared towards vehicular construction.

Creator Animals is more fun than a barrel full of monkeys! Well, more like a box than a barrel. And full of…one monkey. And some other animals. Just don’t let the monkey drive that tractor, whatever you do.

This one won’t show up for a while, but there’s a new Advent Calendar out this year. Packed with the pieces and instructions to build 24 holiday-themed mini-models (mostly holiday-themed…I’m not sure how the helicopter figures into the Christmas story…), and instructions on how to combine the pieces to build four larger models, this is a great activity to keep kids from snooping around for hidden presents. Not that I would have any childhood experience with that sort of thing, of course…
